Join the Cypress Chamber on Tuesday, April 13th at 9:00AM for a Free Virtual Networking meet-up. Our guest speakers in April will be Atty McLellan and Chelsea Bowers, two experts in the field of Homelessness. They will provide an update on homelessness here in O.C. and what is being done locally and county-wide to address the issues associated with homelessness.
Atty Mclellan is the Community Engagement Manager of United to End Homelessness for Orange County United Way, an initiative that convenes various stakeholders including businesses, non-profits and faith-based organizations to build a community-wide collaboration to end homelessness in Orange County.
Atty McLellan is working to put into action the recommendations from United Way’s groundbreaking cost study “Homelessness in Orange County” completed in partnership with UCI and Jamboree Housing Corporation. Upon graduating with two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Peace Studies, Atty was the first person at Chapman University to be awarded the prestigious Shinnyo Fellowship.
Chelsea Bowers currently serves as the Communications Director at City Net, a homeless service and housing agency. City Net has been a partner with the City of Cypress and the Cypress Police Department since 2017 and has worked with various community partners and resources within the City of Cypress to connect over 200 individuals and families to HUD qualifying housing options.
Chelsea Bowers has worked in the field of civic services for over 6 years. Community service was woven throughout her college experiences. At City Net, Chelsea helps communicate the mission and stories of the agency's work with dignity and ethical storytelling best practices. In 2020, City Net was able to connect over 3,125 individuals to HUD qualified housing options, agency-wide as well as operating numerous annual and COVID-19 response emergency and bridge housing programs.
Virtual attendees at the Chamber Breakfast can provide a door prize to help promote their business. A drawing will be held at the end of the ZOOM session for those participants still on the line.
